Every year, EID Méditerranée prevents mosquito larvae from hatching across more than 10 000 hectares of marshland, 2 500 km of ditches and 95 000 urban breeding sites. Frequency of treatments depends on climatic conditions and environmental changes brought about by Man. Mosquitoes can be the vector of serious diseases, which have disappeared in Western Europe but are still rife in many parts of the world..

Special expertise

EID Méditerranée's operations are, therefore, essential to regional development and, quite simply, to life itself. Its two main objectives are: to control the mosquito problem and to conserve wetland areas using selective mosquito control measures.

EID Méditerranée is involved in important conservation and environmental development initiatives (restoration of sand dunes, monitoring of coastal systems, observation and management). This has helped make the region a favourite tourist destination and an area conducive to rapid economic growth. It has also contributed to ensuring public health.
